Mu’àdh ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه narrates that before the Messenger of Allah sent him to Yemen he came out with him advicing Mu’àdh and instructing him. Once he finished he said: ‘O Mu’àdh! It may be that you will not meet me after this year. Perhaps you will pass by this masjid of mine and by my grave’. Mu’àdh started crying alarmed at the thought of parting. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم then turned his face towards Al Madinah:
‘Surely, the closest of people to me are those who have taqwa (piety), whoever they are, wherever they are’
